Flu vs. Common Cold vs. Strep vs. COVID-19: Key Differences

• Influenza (Flu): Sudden onset of high fever, chills, muscle aches, headache, fatigue, cough, and sore throat. Symptoms can be severe and come on quickly.
• Common Cold: Typically milder with gradual onset, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, and mild fatigue. Fevers are uncommon or low-grade.
• Strep Throat: Sore throat without coughing or congestion, often with fever, swollen lymph nodes, headache, and stomach pain. Requires antibiotic treatment if positive.
• COVID-19: Symptoms can overlap with flu and cold but may also include loss of taste or smell, difficulty breathing, and gastrointestinal symptoms.
